Don't need to drag my guitar to fiddle lessons...
Revised March 19, 2011:
I was having problems on my iphone 4 (and my old 3Gs) with lag. The program has been working perfectly on my ipad but not the phone. Well, today i decided to give it another try since the 4.3 iOS update- now the program works flawlessly again. Updating to 5 stars again!
I recently smashed my 3G and replaces it with a
3GS... Now the program has bigtime lag problems changing chords. I deleted the program (careful! you'll lose you custom masterpieces!) and reinstalled it, and restarted the phone... No luck! What to do???
Original 5 star review...
I'm lazy. There, I've admitted it. I just never pack my guitar up to accompany my students in their fiddle lessons. Now my itty-bitty studio doesn't even have a keyboard, so I usually just play mando chords on my fiddle. Now I don't have to. I can group chords according to common keys, save them as separate files, and play away. I just had to have an iPhone when they dropped the price on the original. Now I have a 3G and cannot imagine living without apps like this and Dr.Betotte (metronome) and many other music- (and non-music) related apps. 5 stars!
This app is a must buy!!!!
Regular guitar apps make you finger the chords. I already know how to play guitar, and I don't need to prove to anyone that I can play on an iPhone. This app let's you play whatever chords you want, and just strum the rhythm that you want. Use your left hand to pick the chord u want. U can have up to 10 chords on the main screen at a time to play from. I can plug in this to a speaker and people think I'm playing a real guitar!!!! This is the only 5.00 app that I own, and it's worth it.
Chord selection is cumbersome
I love this app and I have used it a lot. But when I'm sitting around trying to write a song and experimenting with chords I don't always know before hand which chords I'm going to use.
I wish that the chord selection screen was simpler, and more immediate. Something that allowed me to audition chords with a tap instead of scrolling through a all those options before finding something that fits. This would make the process of songwriting on the go much more streamlined. But as it is I feel like I spend more time scrolling through chords than I do enjoying the rest of the app, which is perfect otherwise.
It'd be a 5 star app for me if this was addressed.
